Kelly Swanson is an award-winning storyteller, comedian, motivational speaker, Huffington Post Contributor, and cast member of The Fashion Hero television show airing on Amazon Prime. She is also author of Who Hijacked My Fairy Tale, The Land of If Only, The Story Formula, and The Gutsy Girls Pocket Guide to Public Speaking. She was a featured entertainer for Holland America Cruise Lines, keynote speaker for the International Toastmasters Convention, and has keynoted major conferences and corporate events from coast to coast. Kelly’s wacky wit and powerful stories have charmed hearts and tickled funny bones for over 15 years. In addition to her role as a funny motivational speaker, Kelly teaches people how she does it by sharing what she has learned about connecting and engaging to have more influence in business, through the use of one tool – strategic storytelling. Sharing her own powerful journey through story and the formula she discovered, you come to that magical place where the art of story meets the business of persuasion.
John Pastrano, BBA, CPMSM, CPCS, is the Director of Credentialing for SignifyHealth located in Dallas, Texas with credentialing oversight responsibilities for their national network. He is the co-founder of Southern Belles & Beau (SB&B) Speakers Bureau providing credentialing and self-development presentations to Medical Services Professionals at local, State and National Associations. John, a native Houstonian, earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Houston–Clear Lake. His 30 years of credentialing experience includes hospital, managed care and CVO settings with oversight responsibilities of medical staff affairs, processing of pre-applications, initial and reappointment applications, standardization of privileges and FPPE and OPPE. His past work experience also includes being a Consultant for Joint Commission Resources. John was the first elected male President for NAMSS in 2014.
Rachelle Silva, BBM, CPMSM, CPCS, has worked for MultiPlan, Inc., a NCQA accredited national PPO network, for 14 years as an auditor in their delegated credentialing department and is a founding partner of Southern Belles and Beau, LLC Speaker’s Bureau. Her previous experience was in the hospital environment as a Medical Staff Coordinator/CME Coordinator in a community hospital and Manager of Medical Affairs/Meeting Management at a large academic facility. She has served in leadership positions at both the state and national level to include the Education Committee and the Executive Board of the Louisiana Society of Medical Staff Services, the Certification Commission of NAMSS as a volunteer and was elected to serve as a member, test development chairperson and on the Executive Board, and Director-At-Large on the NAMSS Board. Rachelle is currently working with Team Med Global as team lead product developer for the TMG University Managed Care Pathway and as a faculty member.
Paul Mellor, author of Finding the Keys, was a finalist in the USA Memory Championship, where he recalled the names of over 90 people in less than 15 minutes, remembered in exact order over 100 single-digit numbers after a five-minute study, and recalled the exact order of a shuffled deck of playing cards after less than a three-and-a-half minute review. His fun and energetic programs have been delivered to audiences nationwide. A Communications graduate of Western Carolina University, Mr. Mellor is also the author of You're Almost There, chronicling his journey as having run a marathon (26.2 miles) in all 50 states.
Tiffany Long, CPCS, CPMSM, is a medical staff professional with over twenty years’ experience in the medical staff services profession. Fourteen of those years were spent in the CVO setting. She has also worked for several acute care hospitals in her career. Tiffany states that the amount of redundancy involved with credentialing has always baffled her. Hearing the frustrations from health care providers and medical staff professionals alike really pushed her to automate and streamline processes using technology wherever possible. Now she is the Director of Credentialing for BlocHealth which is a healthcare technology firm implementing blockchain technology and smart applications to simplify the credentialing process. Tiffany is also a NAMSS Instructor and has served on the NAMSS Board as a Director at Large.
Joni Orand has worked in the healthcare industry for 28 years, in both managed care and hospital environments, working with providers and staff gaining unparalleled experience in all aspects of provider management and quality improvement initiatives. She holds a degree in Corporate Communications, with minors in Interpersonal Communication and International Studies in Communications. She is a certified trainer, speaker and coach, and is known for helping, educating, and supporting clients as they develop quality improvement plans. Currently working as a Senior Solution Consultant for Symplr, Joni speaks as a Subject Matter Expert at industry events.
Dwaina Humphries, CPMSM, CPCS, is currently a Consultant with VerityStream. She has 30 years of experience in the medical staff services field, previously working for a large multi-hospital CVO, large hospital medical staff offices, and a small regional hospital. She is currently the Chair of the NAMSS Ethics Committee, as well as a member-at-large on the Board of the CCN.
Renee Aird Dengler
Renee Aird Dengler, RN, MS, CPMSM, CPCS, FMSP, Consultant, is an Independent Consultant and works for VerityStream/A HealthStream Company as a Senior Consultant/Independent Contractor. Renee was the Director of Medical and Professional Affairs for Advocate Health Care in Chicago, Illinois, for over 20 years. In 2016 Renee was among the first 15 professionals awarded the NAMSS Fellow Designation (FMSP). Appointed by the Governor of Illinois, Renee sat on 12-member Health Care Credentials Council that delineated the rules and regulations for the State of Illinois’ Health Care Professional Credentials Data Collection Act. Renee is co-author of the “Medical Staff Handbook”, a TJC publication. She co-authored the first CPCS (Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist) Prep Course and is an Instructor for NAMSS education programs.
